At the gala dinner on Saturday 18 October at Papendal following the World Cup final a presentation was made to Erik Jorritsma and his wife Pietrix. This was in recognition of the couple's contribution to Pitch and Putt in the Netherlands, which is celebrating ten years in existence. They founded NPPB in 1998 and were both present at the meeting in Dublin that agreed to form EPPA in 1999. Their company Pitch&Putt Support has been instrumental in building 16 courses in the Netherlands since 1998 and a further three will be opened in 2009. Erik has also seen success as a player, winning the Italian Open in 2002. Pietrix has recently stepped down from her role in Pitch&Putt Support but still takes a keen interest in the sport at the orginal Dutch course Koekange.
