FIPPA has great pleasure in announcing the preliminary field of players for the historic first World Strokeplay championship, to be played at La Grande Motte, France next April. The list of successful entrants may be found here...
FIPPA World Strokeplay Preliminary List of successful entrants 64 players have qualified as of right
- 15 by specific performance in international competition in 2008
- 49 by nomination from their home association.
16 of the latter 49 are unnamed at present - Italy - 4, Andorra - 4, San Marino - 3, Switzerland - 2, Germany - 1, Ireland - 1, Denmark - 1. The home associations will name the relevant players at the earliest opportunity.
AFPP have made 5 wildcard nominations and FIPPA has made a further 12 wildcard calls. All of the wildcard nominations are proven supporters of and proven performers in international open events and will add considerable lustre to the event by their presence.
We have also added five of the players from the reserve lists submitted by some associations and likewise we are confident that the championship will be enhanced by their presence.
Home associations must communicate with all of their players listed and confirm participation of all by 15 January 2009. Should any players require the certificate of qualification to participate please let us FIPPA know and we will be glad to issue this.
