SWISS INTERNATIONAL SENIORS OPEN - ADVERSE WEATHER FORCES CANCELLATION OF SECOND ROUND

Continuing the climatic theme that has been a regular feature of the 2010 international Pitch and Putt calendar, there was a curtailed finish at St. Moritz. Snow forced the organisers to cancel Sunday's final round of the Swiss International Senior Open. Results were declared on the basis of the Saturday 18 hole scores:

Champion - Miguel Antonio Garrido Fernandez (FCPP)
2nd place - Daniel Serrano Leon (FCPP)
3rd place - Joep van Mourik (NPPB)

Lady Champion - Ruth Lamm (SPPA)
2nd place - Roely Luning (NPPB)
3rd place - Dolors Palahi Senli (FCPP)

Best Swiss - Ueli Lamm (SPPA)

Super Senior - Rolf Zehnder (SPPA).

The first round of the tournament was played in wonderful sunny weather on Saturday at St. Moritz. Everybody enjoyed the game and the atmosphere. The overnight leader, Miguel Garrido Fernandez, Catalonia, was five under par with one hole to play. Unfortunately he dropped 2 shots on the last hole but still finished with a very credible 51 and he led by four from fellow Catalan Daniel Serrano.

The leading lady, local player Ruth Lamm (Switzerland) returned a very good result of 2 shots over par. Her 56 was three shots clear of Catalan Dolors Palahi and Dutch lady Roely Luning.

Bicentennial Tournament - Chile
MESSAGE FROM THE EPPA SECRETARIAT

Dear international Pitch & Putt family and friends,

Despite the poor health of our dear friend, Dr. Fernando Morgado, I have just received confirmation from the secretary of the Chilean P&P Board, that the historic Bicentennial International Open will take place in Santiago, Chile (10-13 November 2010). The Catalan Federation has collaborated with a local travel agency to put together an excellent complementary touristic itinerary which includes many of the major touristic sites of Chile before a return flight from Argentina. Such an event will obviously demand a lot of promotion and preparation. For this reason the tournament schedule is available below in the hope that you will be encouraged to help promote this unique occasion through your publications and websites - the earlier the better.

I hope to be able to send you details of the Australian Open as soon as possible.
Best regards to you all,
Martin
Secretary EPPA
