EPPA and FIPPA Council AGM

Handicap One 2010

The 2010 Annual General Meetings of the EPPA Council and the FIPPA Council were held at Handicap One complex in Catalonia on Friday 12 March 2010.

Fulsome tributes were paid to outgoing President Mervyn Cooney from Ireland, who stepped down after a decade of sterling service to the international organisations. FIPPA General Secretary Jose-Maria de Anzizu and Assistant General Secretary John Manning, who are retiring as well, were also lauded for their efforts.

The Elections resulted in the following Officers being appointed for the 2010-2014 period:

EPPA Board
Frank Smith - President (Ireland), Jo G Brand - Vice President (Norway), Brigitte Albisetti (Switzerland), Toni Lloret (Catalonia), Michael Murphy (Ireland).

FIPPA Board
Frank Smith - President (Ireland), John Hoover - Vice President (USA), Victor Moscatel - Vice President (Catalonia), Myles McMorrow (Ireland), Michael Murphy (Ireland), Jo G Brand (Norway), Joep Van Mourik (Holland).

Catalonia's Martin Whitelaw has agreed to act as General Secretary to both EPPA and FIPPA.

 

 
TRIANGULAR INTERNATIONAL

AT HANDICAP ONE, 12 MARCH 2010

In uptypically cool and overcast conditions at the Handicap One course, Catalonia defeated Holland and Andorra in a unique format, which brought together elite players, ladies, seniors and under 16s.

News 2010 Catalan Open

Catalonia has been hit with snow storms this week. For this reason the venue for the Open has been changed to Sant CebriĆ , from the original venue, Mas Pages.

In the north of Catalonia there has been a lot of snow, traffic problems on the roads and electricity cuts in some towns and cities.

The FCPP have recommended a new hotel - Hotel Bernat in Calella. (http://www.hotelbernatcalella.com). Calella is a tourist town near Sant Cebria.

The hotel has arranged special prices for players in the Catalan Open. Please mention the FCPP Pitch and Putt Open to avail of special rates.

Double rooms are priced at €33 pps. Single rooms are priced at €48. Both rates include breakfast and dinner.

The venue for the Andorra-Catalonia-Holland Triangular International has been changed to Hcap 1.

A top-class field of 108 will participate in the fourth Catalan Open from 13 March to 14 March 2010.

The field of 108 competitors has now been finalised. It includes the three former winners of the Catalan Open - William Buckley (2004), Marcal More (2008) and Joan Poch (2009). View the full list here
